Laurel graduated from Apple Valley High School with an art emphasis. Her school's large art department offered a variety of media, exposing her to pottery, casting, enameling, and more – all of which currently helps in her jewelry making. She earned her art degree at SCSU, resulting in several art/design positions including in the art department of the West Central Tribune newspaper. Laurel currently is the owner of Bead Jam bead shop on Main Street, New London, which sells a full range of beading supplies, and features Laurel's handcrafted jewelry.Her jewelry is available in other gallery locations as well.
