Ron Adams graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art and a State of Minnesota Teaching Certificate. He has worked as a freelance artist since 1993 on projects ranging from a mural for the City of Willmar, magazine illustrations, children’s book illustrations and commission work which included a large painting for Rice Hospital in 2004.

Adam's work is mainly photography-based realism done in a technique of layering colored pencil and art markers to create his semi-surreal images. He also creates large canvases of figurative subjects in either oil or acrylic, as well as oil pastel portraits.
