Growing up in the forests of northern Minnesota presented me with a natural path into art. Early memories of the shapes and textures of nature - leaves, bark, bones, plants, antlers and bugs - as seen through my child’s eyes has been my ongoing inspiration. Though always experimenting with whatever medium or unexpected found item triggers my current fancy, pyrography (pyro: fire, graphos: writing) has been my primary focus for the last few years. Each project brings a welcome new challenge to help me elevate my skills.

My leaf jewelry is made from polymer clay, which I sculpt using only my hands and two very simple tools from my kitchen drawer.
